Event Photography

Wednesday 5th October, I slipped into my hot pink high heels and headed to the 4th Floor Restaurant in Mooloolaba to photograph one very special day. Starting here on the Sunshine Coast, Natalie McIvor opened up her heart and created the Enlightened Goddesses. It is a network of women, with members across Australia, who have a place to share themselves through their business, which is also their passion. A beautiful supportive environment is created for sharing, learning and creating authentic relationships. AND.. I was able to capture the essence of all the wonderful women that attended on the day. This video is a showcase of “Magical Moments” from the day.

In alignment with the support that Natalie gives to the Cindy McKenzie Foundation, I am donating all proceeds from the photographs that are purchased from the day.

Photography is but one of my passions!

How often do you get asked “what is your passion?” and you feel you need to have one definitive answer? I have passion for all, and in all areas, of my life!

With photography, which is a skill and talent that I am grateful and passionate for, it allows me to enjoy more areas of my life. Meeting people and learning what they do, what they love and the unique “who” they are is one of those areas that I love. When I take peoples portraits I do shoot to bring your personality, message and truth out. Soon I will be creating videos to showcase people individually, but for now, here is a little video asking you…….

Good Photographs

Ansel Adams was an American Photographer known for his Black and White photographs captured in Yosemite National Park. (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984)

When you take time to read photography books you’ll find many rules of photography, especially in composition.  I like these rules, they help me to create impact with stricking lines and allow me to help the subject project a story. Do I bend the rules…. of course!  There are times when the rule of thirds definitely doesn’t work, especially for magazine shoots where text and other images are overlapped onto your original artwork. I suggest learning the rules, see how they work for you but don’t photograph to be technically correct, because a photograph without feeling is one you will eb sure to delete.

If you are shooting for yourself and you love the photograph you have taken because it captures a moment in time and creates part of your life’s story, then it is a great photograph!
